Get to know League of Legends: Wild Rift
Candidates for Mobile Legends Competitors
In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Riot Games announced great news for League of Legends fans around the world. The popular MOBA game on PC will certainly be available on mobile devices and consoles in 2020.
Finally, after a long wait, the game that inspired the birth of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Arena of Valor (AOV) will also jump into the world of mobile devices. But, it should be noted that the League of Legends mobile version is different from the PC ones.
For the mobile version, this game is titled League of Legends: Wild Rift. Riot stressed that Wild Rift was made from scratch, not just an LoL (League of Legends) port on a PC that was moved to mobile.
So, Riot promises a different playing experience because it has been adapted to mobile devices. Even so, the overall gameplay of Wild Rift is exactly the same as the PC version of LoL.
How to play
Players will choose a character called a champion to play in a match. The champions have their respective roles, ranging from marksman, mage, tank, fighter, support, to assassin. Players can choose champions in accordance with the wishes and strategies of the team.
It should be noted, the game matches teams of 5 against 5. So, a team must combine the roles of champions who fit. Don’t use too many marksmen, mages, tanks, etc. Must be combined according to strategy in order to win the fight.
Just like other MOBA games, to win a match a team must destroy the opponent’s turret base in a map divided by three lanes.
Wild Rift has control schemes such as Mobile Legends and AOV, where motion control is on the left and skills and attacks are on the right. The items used by each champion also need to be considered because it will greatly affect the game.
Unlike the PC version, League of Legends: Wild Rift will take a shorter time for one match. Riot revealed that an average match would be finished in 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, the game map is promised to have a new look.
List of champions
On its official website, Wild Rift ensures there will be faces of old champions in the game. The plan, for the beginning Wild Rift will later have around 40 champions. After that, the numbers will continue to increase over time.
Some of the champions who are certain to be present at Wild Rift include Annie, Fizz, Nami, Nasus, Twisted Fate, and so on.
Interestingly, all the champions available in Wild Rift can be obtained free of charge. Riot will apply in-game purchases for accessories such as skins and others.
Is it cross-platform between PC and mobile or console?
No, League of Legends: Wild Rift is separate from the PC version. Riot emphasized that this step was taken to ensure a fair and exciting game on any platform. In special moments, Riot will hold different events for League of Legends on PC and mobile.
Even so, Riot Games opens up the possibility of cross platforms between the mobile and console versions, but this has not been confirmed.
Minimum specifications for playing Wild Rift
Although there has not been a definite decision, Riot Games claimed to want to bring Wild Rift games on as many devices as possible, ranging from low end to high end. Of course, this needs to be done if they want to rival the popularity of Mobile Legends and AOV, which can be played on various smartphone devices.
For now, the temporary target for mobile device specifications that can play Wild Rift is compatibility equivalent to the Samsung Galaxy A7, namely 1 GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and GPU Adreno 306. While for iOS, Wild Rift will be present on the iPhone 5S and newer.
